NPP Brouhaha: Akufo-Addo not showing leadership – Mornah.
General Secretary of the Peoples’ National Convention (PNC), Bernard Monah has expressed disappointment in the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for doing little to solve the wrangling in the party.
According to him, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has not shown his leadership style to solve the chaos that has erupted recently in the party.
This he explained shows how incompetent the NPP has become.
“I’m disappointed that Nana Addo has not shown any leadership style to ensure peace in the party,” he said.
His reaction comes in a wake of the internal frictions that has hit party leaders in the NPP.
The two national leaders of the opposition party were on Thursday chased by rioting youth of their party in the Upper East region when they attempted holding a meeting with constituency executives of the party at the regional capital, Bolgatanga.
The irate party members were reported to have attacked the Upper East regional organizer, Jerry Asamani for organizing the meeting without informing the regional chairman, Mahama Adam.
The timely intervention of the police, according to eyewitnesses, saved the situation from degenerating into total chaos.
But Mr. Mornah on Accra-based Radio Gold’s program Alhaji & Alhaji on Saturday noted that Nana Addo had the opportunity to call for peace in the party but failed to call members to order which has therefore led to a detrimental consequences to the party.
“I feel very sad for the NPP because it is a party that has added up to the country’s credentials but it is unfortunate that respect for authority has been shunned. I don’t blame anyone but Nana Addo because he refused to show leadership into the party” he stated.
