Liga – Harry Redknapp warns Gareth Bale: ‘This is a man’s world, sort yourself out’
Gareth Bale has come under plenty of scrutiny after an underwhelming second season at Real Madrid and his former manager Harry Redknapp has told him to improve mentally.
The former Southampton graduate had a much happier first season at the Bernabeu, scoring decisive goals in the Copa del Rey and Champions League finals.
This season has been much tougher for the 25-year-old on a personal level, with Real Madrid fans even booing him at times.
Redknapp believes that scrutiny has affected his former player and warned that only he can turn it around.
“He has never received this amount of attention and maybe that’s affected him a little,” Redknapptold AS.
“But he’s got to get over it, be strong and believe that he can turn his situation around.
“He’s got to dive in head first. It’s no good for him to be going over there wondering whether it would be better if he came back home.
“He’s at one of the greatest clubs in the world, if not the greatest. This is a man’s world and he’s got to sort himself out.”
